The Wild Side

Go and spy for wildlife on one of many nature trails; you may even be lucky and spot a red squirrel. Keep the kids enthralled with a quiz as you explore Hutton-in-the Forest. Let them run wild on one of four adventure trails or the wildflower meadow at Mirehouse.

Take a walk on the wild side as you shrink to 5cm to help Max Meadowvole get across the maze at Muncaster Castle and watch wild herons feeding at their World Owl Centre.

A Feast for their Imaginations

Kids will love eating lunch in the mediaeval tearoom at Dalemain, followed by discovering the sleeping giantess, box hedge dragon and children's garden, where all the plants have animal names.

Head out on a garden quest at Holker Hall by and let off some steam at the adventure playground. Hunt for the elusive hare at the centre of the Living Willow Labyrinth at Levens Hall or discover their collection of steam engines.
