About Us

The Lake District Historic Houses & Gardens group are a group of nine privately owned houses spread across the Lake District, Cumbria.

Some are still owned and lived in by the original families whilst others are now in the hands of trusts. All have chosen to open their doors to the public to share the stories and treasures each home has to offer and to give an exclusive glimpse into the private homes of some of Cumbria's public faces- past and present.

Whilst each house offers a very different experience they do all offer a quality day out, whatever the weather.
