George Howard was an intimate friend of Morris, Philip Webb and Edward Burne-Jones, who worked informally together on several commissions for him, including Naworth Castle and St Martin’s Church in Cumbria, and 1 Palace Green in London. George Howard was the subject of Dr Haslam’s doctoral thesis, and this illustrated talk will draw on her research, bringing these enthralling personalities to life with quotes from letters and diaries.
